Jake

A little over fifteen years ago I made a doll of a boy that I adored.
Twelve years ago I married him.

Happy Anniversary Jake.  I love you more today than I could have even imagined back then.

xoxo

  1. I love you, too!

I think we should go for some kind of record. You know, like one of those old couples that gets mentioned on the news because they've been married for so long. I think we should try for that.

You're STILL the coolest chick I know.

    xo Jake :D

    1. Thanks Eliz! Jake's mom kept it in a cedar chest, which is how it's still in pretty good shape.

  12. Hi Jaime, I love your crochet projects, you make it sounds fun and easy. Can you please show us how to make the doll? I want to do it for my fiance. Thank you. Sarah

    1. Hi Sarah! I didn't use a pattern when I made it 15 years ago, so I'm not sure exactly how to start reverse engineering it at this point. I was in an art doll phase at the time (from when I was about 12 through my mid-20's), so this is just one of about 200 dolls that I made.
I highly recommend Designing the Doll: From Concept to Construction by Susanna Oroyan. It's an excellent resource if you're interested in making your own art dolls.
Hope this helps you on your journey! Congratulations on your engagement!
