Crazy Simple One Hour Wrist Warmers

I know, I know.  There are a ton of fingerless glove patterns out there.  But these are so quick to make and so crazy simple these will be your hands down favorites!  What makes them so amazing is that you can make a pair using only one skein of yarn and one hour.  So that means that when you're watching back-to-back episodes of Scandal on Netflix you could be cranking out cute stocking stuffers for all of your friends.  One episode, one pair of wrist warmers.  Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! It's a win-win as far as I'm concerned.


CRAZY SIMPLE ONE HOUR WRIST WARMERS
to fit most adults
Supplies:
2 oz worsted weight yarn (I used 100% cotton yarn, but you might prefer wool in colder climates)
Size G crochet hook
Yarn needle

(make 2)
ch 24, sl st to first ch to close loop (be careful not to twist stitches)
R1: ch 1, hdc in each ch around, sl st to first hdc to close round (24 st)
R2-5: ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to first hdc to close round (24 st)
R6: ch 1, hdc in each st around, do not close round, ch 1, turn (24 st)
R7-9: hdc in each st across, ch 1, turn (24 st)
R10: hdc in each st across, sl st to first hdc to close round (24 st)
R11-18: ch 1, hdc in each st around, sl st to first hdc to close round (24 st)
Fasten off.  Weave in ends.


Crazy simple, right?!  And if you want to do the striped version you just change color every two rows (5 stripes of your main color, 4 stripes of your accent color).  So easy! Super gifty!

  6. When you put them on, which part goes down by your wrist? The part that you started with (the chains) or the part you ended on? Thanks!

      The chain part is less stretchy, so it goes by your fingers. The end is the part that goes around your wrist/forearm, so the foundation chain doesn't cut into your arm. Ouch! ;-) Also, the arm part is longer, and would totally cover your hand if you put them on upside down.

  7. Made fist pair tonight. Love the pattern and it does work up quickly. I crochet a little tight so mine are not the best fit for me. Will adjust accordingly. Thanks for sharing.

  8. I just made 1, and love it! However, I have made them in the past (with a different pattern) and people said they were too big or small. I made them for people all over the country, so couldn't measure. I would love to make some ahead, but cannot guarantee fit. How can I adjust? I also make them for men. People would just tell me I have a larger or smaller than avg hand. TIA

  10. I tweaked it a little bit so that at about row twelve or so I dec by 2, then sc in the next 4, repeat all the way around that row, then go back to single crochet all the way around for the rest of the pattern. Makes it a bit tighter on the wrists, which I like.

  11. I have bigger hands so in experimenting... I started out with 30 ch round and I wanted it longer on my fingers so did 8 rows then started the thumb hole on the 9th round. 4rounds for the thumb was good but after I finished the 13th row (finishing the thumb hole for my hand!) I realized 30 was a bit large for my fingers but PERFECT for my wrist (didn't wanna undo so much!!) so i flipped it so I'd end with the fingers. I proceeded with 2 rounds (rows 13-14)at 30 sts then decreased at st 3, 14, 15 & 22, making this row (row 15) 26 sts. Then, since I wanted it longer on the fingers, I did 13hdc, 7 sl st, 6 hdc for rows 16-19 and on row 20, 13 hdc 7sc 6 hdc. This accounts for my shorter pinkie =) and still covers to my 1st knuckles on my fingers!! Thank you for the pattern and to all who've posted-it all helped!! =)

  12. I saw these and got inspired to make them. The ones I saw were made in solid color - kind of a mohair type yarn with a crotcheted flower sewn on the top (back of hand). Really nice. I can't wait to try making them.

  19. I suggest starting with foundation half double crochet instead of a chain for more stretch. (Use your end to even up the seam when you weave it in.) It's easier to keep a row of hdc from twisting than a chain when you join for working in the round.

  22. Have made several with this pattern. My friends want more so I will be busy. I am going to try to elongate then up towards the elbow. My one friend lives in an old drafty 1800's farm house so would like them longer. I see other patterns that have them loger so I will look to see if I can adapt this pattern. They are so nice I want to continue to use this pattern if possile!
